Denver HC Network Send-Off
Last night I stood, completely blown away and humbled to watch strangers, along with familiar faces, stream into the auditorium at Denver Seminary.

Desi Starr + some other friends initiated a send-off for us, for our move to New Zealand. He invited the entire Denver house church network to participate in coming together to listen to God and speak out anything they heard that might encourage, strengthen or guide us as we prepare for the upcoming move.
To see people I didn’t even know, come and spend an evening praying for us, was overwhelmingly precious to me. Thank you everyone who came to send us off. What a blessing.

After enjoying a meal and catching up with one another, we gathered in several small groups where we listened to God together + asked Him to speak what was on his heart. He spoke to individuals within the group working through some of their personal issues, and also prepared several others to give words to us. Then we came back together in one large circle. One by one, people took turns giving revelations, visions and scriptures that God put on their heart. Every single word given for us, directly was dead on—pinpointing things we need to focus on, remember and stand confidently in. Things I needed to hear, from the mouth of God. Things that will help us with our move + during the first several months being there… about purpose + God’s plan + protection. I left that night feeling so filled to the brim.
We were honored by the turn out and humility in the group. Corporate gatherings of a random assortment of believers around the city, coming together to simply Listen to God and encourage one another, is an amazing concept.
Near the end of sharing words for us, Desi made a point that I want to share with you: It’s not about going on some crazy mission for God, but about asking God what He has for you individually, or as a couple. We are all missional. Our God is a missionary-sending God. But mission is everywhere we go, not just overseas. Are we being missional in our spheres of influence? We must ask God what He has for us and be faithful to obey.
