Our first Christmas alone ever, without family! It was super weird but we managed to enjoy ourselves! Kate was a few months pregnant here.

In the fall of 2011 we organized several volunteering opportunities in Christchurch during a YWAM National conference. Here is our outreach group at the end of a beach town cleanup!

In the spring of 2011 (NZ) we traveled along the top of the south island. This was one of our favorite spots, along the Abel Tasman walk.

Part of our ministry here in Christchurch is to host mission teams and individuals coming through town. Here is just one group we’ve hosted over the years.

We’ve been helping facilitate a university-aged home group for over a year here in Christchurch. Here is some of the group at our house for a night of pizza and games after volunteering to clean out a hoarder’s house.

We hosted a Christmas in July dinner party to make the cold Christchurch winter seem a little more bearable. It was an ugly sweater-themed party as well! We aren’t used to Christmas in summer and the long winter here goes by very slowly without much to keep it from getting too depressing!

Snow in Christchurch is pretty rare. The city was all excited (and frustrated) by the snow, winter 2011! It snowed two times and was gorgeous. We felt at home!
