Prayer: The Underrated Champion

As we pursue this crazy adventure and do our best to follow God we have no doubt we’re going to run into some pretty difficult situations and there is nothing as important to us as moral, emotional, spiritual, and prayer support. Seriously. We’ve discovered the immense effectiveness of prayer and the surprisingly powerful benefit of dedicated friends.

Financial Giving

Our approach to raising finances is a bit different than most are used to. Whereas most missionaries have to rely on full support from home due to the nature of their field, we will be living in a fully westernized context with many options available to us. Thanks to the advent of the internet and the level of connectivity that it allows, we are able to do part-time work remotely and hopefully maintain a base level of income. Our work will allow us to live day-to-day in New Zealand, however, if we were to work full-time we would not be able to engage as fully in the ministry we feel God has asked us to do.

This is where you can help. If you feel lead to give and thus to free us up a bit from the daily grind so we can pursue God’s calling, that would be amazing!!

We deeply desire that your giving is not compulsory, but done out of a strong leading and personal desire to enable us in doing what God has asked us to do. We attempt to live as simply as possible and, even in New Zealand where everything is more expensive than in the States, our current income requirements still only amount to about $1500 USD per month. If and when you feel lead, we can accept tax-deductible donations through New Covenant Fellowship Church or you can donate directly through our PayPal account (non-tax-deductible). Needless to say, whatever you give will allow us to spend more time away from the computer (working) and more time engaging the tangible needs in and around Christchurch. Thanks!!

Little Things, Big Difference

Lastly, and more of a hint than a request — we love getting real mail! If you think of it, and you’re the “snail mail” type, send us a note or a picture of you eating delicious American food (so we can dream about the “good ol’ days”) or anything your heart desires. Even better than this, however, would be if you packed up a suitcase, bought a plane ticket, and hopped on a 747 across the Pacific to see us. We’ll be at the airport waiting…
